What is sublimation printing?
Sublimation printing, also known as dye sub or dye sublimation printing is a popular printing process for transferring images and graphics onto a variety of fabrics or materials.
Images and graphics are printed on a special transfer paper sheet which is placed on the chosen fabric and heat is applied so the design can transfer onto the fabric. For a detailed information please visit our Sublimation section page.
What products can sublimation printing be used on?
This printing method in terms of apparel is best used on polyester fabrics in white or light colors or hard surfaces with a with a poly-coating, such as coasters, mugs,mouse pads and more.
Why is sublimation printing used?
Sublimation printing is the most effective way to apply all-over prints on fabrics or materials. It is also the cheapest option if there are multi-color images
and graphics to be printed which in other processes like screen printing, heat transfer or embroidery can be very costly and do not have the same desired effect.
It leaves a soft hand feel to the fabric and if numbers, letters or applique is added onto the garment it does not peel or come out in the wash.
Is sublimation printing permanent?
Since the dyes are infused into the fabric at the molecular level rather than topical level like screen-printing, heat transfer or DTG, the print will not fade or peel
off in the wash and end result is therefore permanent.

We keep a wide range of fabrics and materials in our stock made of polyester and poly-blend range from 130-300 g/m2 depending on the sport and apparel.

Can sublimation printing be done on cotton garments?
No. Sublimation printing works only on garments made of polyester or polyester blend.

Is sublimation printing environmentally friendly?
Sublimation is a good environmentally friendly printing alternative. There is no wastage and need for water, typical printing methods involve a step with water,
where the solid turns to water before a gaseous state. Sublimation printing does not involve the liquid step but goes right from solid to gas due to a chemical reaction (like dry ice).
What temperature is used for sublimation printing?
The most common dyes used for sublimation printing is exposed to a high temperature range of 350 to 420 degrees Fahrenheit.
